I have heard a lot of people speak of revolution lately. There are certainly some who mean it when they advocate for such radical change. Let me start by saying this: I agree that a massive change in society is necessary if we hope to correct our country’s current disastrous course.  I have not heard, however, an effective plan to affect this revolution. For this reason, I have created this “Guide to Revolution” to present the first step towards restoring greatness to America.

In the past eight years, the media presented those on the right as everything from greedy warmongers to just plain crazy. At the same time, leftists have been presented as hip, cool, and caring. This media bias is largely responsible for the overwhelming success of the Democrats and the far left in the 2008 elections (although the Republicans failure to uphold their own professed beliefs is also much to blame). If that weren’t bad enough, the bias in the educational system is so extreme that an overwhelming majority of students are liberal (often exceeding 80%).

So what’s a good patriot to do? You love your country and you see what is being done as fundamentally against its very principles. What’s worse, the majority of people don’t agree with you and think you’re crazy. People under thirty, many who have no meaningful historical knowledge, have a strong belief, inspired by clowns like Jon Steward and Stephen Colbert, that Conservative principles are evil and outdated. Minority populations have clung to the convenience of racial politics and pushed for ever-growing social programs. Those in academia ridicule you with every breath, preaching tolerance in one and bigotry against you with the other.

It seems as if the stars are aligned against you. Some suggest violence and the coming revolution as the only cure for our ill. The world you knew seems to be coming to a close and the only solution is to be willing to put your life on the line to defend that which you hold dear. It’s touching and it shows how deeply you care, but it will only hasten the death of all that you love about our country.

One thing that you must remember is that the vast majority of the population can be molded easily, its just takes time. Those on the left, no matter how much you may dislike them, should be noted for their unceasing dedication to social change. They have been working to remake America (and. believe me, often for good causes even if they twist the law to do so) since the 1950s. It has been a long hard road for them, but their dedication to their principles and their refusal to quit has brought them great success.

If, now that conservatives are regarded as crazy and evil, you were to seriously speak of revolution or act upon your words, you would set this image in stone. Fact: you can change the opinions of most of the people who currently oppose you. Another fact: if you try to supersede the American government, even broken as it is, your fight will be for naught. You will lose where it matters: in peoples’ hearts and minds.

Take heart, gentle reader, for so long as there is one person in the world who can see through the lies, there is hope. If you do your part there will soon  be many more.
